FOLD for macOS.Not public yet.
The direct build comes from foldmail.app, not from a store. It is signed by Datargo GmbH, notarized by Apple and keeps itself up to date.
The macOS build runs in TestFlight today. The signed direct download from foldmail.app follows; leave your address and you get the link as soon as it is up.

Keeps itself current
FOLD looks for a new version shortly after launch and daily after that, silently when the server cannot be reached. Every package is verified against the signing key built into FOLD before it is installed. The check can be turned off in Settings, and the menu offers it at any time.
What the update check sends
The check fetches one static file. No account, no identifier, no profile; the server log holds an ordinary HTTP request and nothing else.
iOS through TestFlight, then the App Store
There is no direct install on iPhone or iPad. The iOS version is in TestFlight today and will ship through the App Store.
